The classic Loire cycle tour follows the most famous part of the river, from Orleans to the Atlantic Ocean. Most of it is signposted and mostly on cycle paths.
Sometimes you cycle a quiet alternative route, car-free through the valley. Many famous castles are on this route, such as those of Chambord and Villandry. The beautiful landscapes around the Loire are constantly changing. The river has many meanders, wooded islets and sandbanks. And after a day of cycling, the local cuisine is sure to please.
