Moselle and Saar - 6 days
Day 1 - Arrival in TrierThe Moselle and Saar cycle tour starts in Trier, the oldest city in Germany. Here you can see the impressive Porta Nigra in the historic center, the remains of an amphitheater and an enormous Romanesque cathedral. The city also houses the birthplace of Karl Marx.Day 2 - Trier to Trittenheim or Neumagen-Dhron - approx. 40 kmYou leave Trier and cycling along the Moselle you arrive in the picturesque Pfalzel. After a visit to Schweich, you can admire the Roman 'Villa Urbana' and excavations from Roman times in Longuich.
You will spend the night in Trittenheim or in Neumagen - Dhron.Day 3 - Trittenheim or Neumagen-Dhron to Traben-Trarbach - approx. 53 kmAfter rounding the Moselle meander with the rocky massif of the 'Moselloreley' you will soon see the imposing castle ruins of Landshut with the small old town of Bernkastel at its foot. At the next meander you will find striking Art Nouveau houses and your hotel in the lively twin town of Traben-Trarbach.Day 4 - Traben-Trarbach to Cochem - approx. 56 kmAfter a few rustic wine villages you arrive in Zell, which is known for the 'Schwarze Katze' and the former castle of the Electors. You then pass the monastery ruins of Stuben and through Beilstein, a jewel of a half-timbered town at the foot of the Metternich castle ruins. You will spend the night in the romantic resort of Cochem, which is very popular with tourists. In addition to wonderful walks through the Old Town and along the Moselle Promenade, you can also visit the Reichsburg in Cochem, which was rebuilt in late medieval style, or take the chairlift to the top of the Pinnerberg for a beautiful panorama. Day 5 - Cochem to Koblenz - approx. 50 kmYour last cycle route takes you along the now less erratic course of the Moselle, past steep wine terraces, to Koblenz, where the river flows into the Rhine. Along the way in the village of Moselkern, a trip to the fairytale castle Burg Eltz is an absolute must. After a short walk through the picturesque Eltzbachtal valley, a wonderful view of this wonderful castle suddenly unfolds. At the end of the cycle route, cross the Moselle at Güls into the center of Koblenz. After arriving at your hotel, you can take a lovely walk through the atmospheric Altstadt and over the leafy promenades along the Moselle and the Rhine to the famous 'Deutsches Eck'.Day 6 - DepartureBy train you return to Trier to pick up your car. If you have traveled by train from home to Trier, you will return home from Koblenz.

- Return transfer of persons from Koblenz to Trier by train is possible daily and costs € 26 per person. Reserve in advance when booking. On site is not possible. (Bicycles can be taken for free)
- Returning your own bicycle to Trier is also possible by night transport and costs € 30 per bicycle. This is only possible on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On the afternoon before your return journey, you will hand in your bicycle at the last hotel. The next day your bike will be at the hotel in Trier. Reserve in advance when booking. On site is not possible.
