Bretons beauties

Immense rocks shaped like a general’s hat, islands with winding paths, and villages that charm with photogenic half-timbered houses, vibrant hydrangeas, and cafés where you savor wafer-thin crêpes. Brittany is bursting with beauties. Like the Maison-entre-deux-roches. Just outside Plougrescant, on the northernmost tip of Brittany, nature reigns supreme. Towering granite boulders alternate with salty inland ponds. Here you'll find perhaps Brittany’s most iconic house, wedged between two massive granite stones.

Even More Beauties

Such beauties unfold like a string of pearls. Starting with the Pink Granite Coast, your first stop after Lannion. That rugged coastline continues over the next few days. From Paimpol, take a day trip to the flower island of Île-de-Bréhat. After visiting charming Pontrieux and the feudal castle of Tonquedec, return to Lannion via the peaceful valley of the Léguer River.

Brilliant Gem: Île-de-Bréhat

The crown jewel of the Breton islands is without doubt Île-de-Bréhat. Cycle at a relaxed pace across this car-free island with its unspoiled nature. Climb the steps near the Saint-Michel chapel for the most breathtaking view of the rugged coastline. The bay is just one of thousands of inlets along Brittany’s 3,500 km coastline. Continue cycling along the narrow winding paths, past whitewashed dream cottages with sky-blue shutters and seas of hydrangeas. The Agapanthus also thrives here. In the more rugged northern part, you'll once again encounter the massive rock formations so typical of the north coast.

Pink Granite Coast: Raw and Eccentric

The ocean rules life along Brittany’s northern coast. Breathe in the salty sea air, toast with fishermen in their sailor’s tavern, climb over exposed rocks, and battle mountains of fruits de mer. On your cycling holiday through northern Brittany, you’ll discover the world-famous Côte de Granit Rose – the Pink Granite Coast. For thousands of years, the sea, wind, and sand have shaped the rocks of this surreal coastline. At times, the massive rocks with their eccentric shapes seem to defy gravity, especially near the coastal town of Perros-Guirec. In one rock, you’ll see a rabbit; in another, the hat of Napoleon.
