Through the royal forest of Amboise, you cycle onto a gently rolling plateau with vineyards, meadows, small stream valleys, and extensive oak woods. Then you descend to the famous Château de Chenonceau, partly built over the River Cher. Following this river, you ride to Montrichard, nestled at the foot of a medieval donjon. After a short climb, you enjoy a long descent to the stage town of Pontlevoy, which grew around an abbey nearly 1,000 years old.
