Day 1 Arrival in SienaArrival in Siena with the famous 'il Campo' square.Day 2 Siena to Castellana in Chianti - 34 kmThe next day you cycle into the Chianti Hills. Your Castellina stage location is of Etruscan age. You will find remains in the castle museum and in the tombs behind your villa hotel.Day 3 - Castellina in Chianti to Florence - 47 kmYour second bike tour starts with a descent to the Pesa. After this you make height again and follow a beautiful hill crest road. The town of Impruneta is decorated with terracotta.
In Florence you will find the comfortable hotel on the green south bank of the Arno.
Day 4 Roundtrip to FiesoleYou can visit beautiful Florence today. Over the Ponte Vecchio you can walk straight into the center where you can admire the real David of Michelangelo and see where Dante has lived. And there is a cycle route to Fiesole, which was an important city for the Etruscans and later the Romans. There are remains of an Etruscan wall and temple and of Roman thermal baths and a Roman amphitheater.Day 5 - Florence to San Gimignano - 60 kmOn your next leg you will visit the chartreuse of Certosa and cross the valleys of the Pesa and Elsa. Finally a climb to the famous tower town of San Gimignano follows. Your hotel has a magnificent panorama restaurant.Day 6 - San Gimignanon to Volterra - 42 kmThe next day you will discover a special monastery in the wooded Tuscan hills near San Vivaldo. Your cycle tour ends in the high-lying Volterra that was given a wall in the Etruscan era. A Roman amphitheater is one of the many monuments. An ancient industry is the artful processing of alabaster.Day 7 - Volterra to Siena - 60/64 kmToday, due to the open hill country, it is mainly downhill. The village of Casole d'Elsa offers an atmospheric break. Via Abbadia Isola, with a Benedictine abbey, and the medieval walled town of Monteriggioni you will cycle back to Siena.Day 8 Departure
