Through the beautiful Jeker Valley, which forms the language border with the Walloon region, you'll cycle to Kanne. You'll likely feel as if you're visiting no less than three countries. You start in Flemish-speaking Tongeren, but suddenly the cycling nodes switch to "Points de Noeuds," and before you know it, you're saying "Bonjour" to passersby and getting a cheerful "Guten Tag" in return. From Kanne, you can take a route further through the Jeker Valley and along the base of the Sint-Pietersberg to visit Maastricht. Afterwards, you'll cycle across a gently rolling marl plateau with expansive views, past mushroom caves, large square farms, and a wine estate, back to old Tongeren.
