You cycle through a rolling hedgerow landscape typical of this region. The long variant enters the town of Cérilly, where you'll find a castle, a 12th-century Romanesque church and a museum about the writer Charles-Louis Philippe. Through the Forêt Domaniale de Civrais, you head to St Plaisir. The beautiful Romanesque church has lovely wall paintings and a beautifully carved pulpit. On the way back, you pass the medieval fortress Château des Ducs de Bourbon, perched high above Bourbon-l'Archambault.
