Giethoorn
A Tour to Dwarsgracht - 14 kmThe reconnaissance route follows the canal along a beautiful path to Noordeinde and the equally picturesque water village of Dwarsgracht. You will return to Giethoorn through the nature reserve of the Beulakerwijde, with a beautiful view over the water. B Round trip to Havelte - 40/52 kmYou start your journey along the canal in Giethoorn. Then you drive through a rural landscape with a view of the Wieden. Via the village of Darp you will reach the hunebeds on the heath. You cycle on paths through the nature reserves Holtingerveld with heath and forest, Havelterberg and Uffelterzand. You can visit the Butterfly Paradise Papiliorama. You see burial mounds and a sheepfold. The Clemens church in Havelte has a rare musical instrument in the tower, a Chamadron. The way back goes through the elongated villages of Nijeveen and Wanneperveen.C Tour to the Weerribben - 44/61 kmA bike ride to De Weerribben National Park. Outside Giethoorn you will soon arrive in a beautiful piece of nature along the Beulakerwijde. You cycle through Dwarsgracht to Kalenberg. In Ossenzijl you can choose between the short or long route. Only the long route also goes through the nature reserve De Rottige Meente. Via Scheerwolde you cycle to Giethoorn again.D Tour to Zwartsluis - 40/45 kmMostly following the Wiedenroute, you will arrive in Belt-Schutsloot, two connected water villages. In Zwartsluis you can visit the Center Nature and Craft Schoonewelle during this bike ride. This place is a paradise for pleasure boating. You then cycle to St. Jansklooster, where you can get a lot of information in the De Wieden visitor center. Then you go to Blokzijl, which was a thriving trading town in the Golden Age, on display at the 't Gildenhuys museum. With the Jonen ferry you cross the Walengracht and through a beautiful nature reserve you drive to the picturesque Dwarsgracht and back to Giethoorn. E - Tour to Wanneperveen - 19 kmFinally, there is a short route around Giethoorn. At De Wieden you can walk to a viewpoint, take a short walk and extend the route with a visit to Meppel.
